How to add your plate PNG to Tesla
Copy the generated PNG to a LicensePlate folder on the USB drive, then select it in Tesla Paint Shop.

Connect the Tesla USB drive
You can use the same USB drive used for Dashcam and Sentry Mode. Existing Tesla folders do not need to be changed.
Create a folder in the USB root
The folder name must be exactly:
LicensePlateLicensePlate must be in the root of the USB drive, not inside TeslaCam.
Copy the PNG to LicensePlate
You do not need to convert or resize the file. Tesla supports up to 10 custom plate images; each PNG must be no larger than 0.5 MB.

Connect the USB drive to the car and open the license plate background option:
Toybox → Paint Shop → Customize → License Plate → Background → Image
Menu names can vary by Tesla software version and selected language.
Select the PNG
The registration characters are already part of the image, so leave Tesla’s separate plate text field empty.

Check these four things
- The folder is named exactly LicensePlate and is in the root of the USB drive.
- The PNG is directly inside LicensePlate, not in another subfolder.
- The file is PNG format and no larger than 0.5 MB.
- Disconnect and reconnect the USB drive to the car.
